Greige: the 2026 color replacing off-white
Greige is a mix of gray and beige. It is the fastest-growing color family in Pantone, NCS, and RAL charts for 2025. In 2026, it is the standard neutral for new builds, hotels, and renovations.
Color palette
What greige actually is
Greige is a hybrid neutral between cool gray and warm beige. In the NCS system, these tones sit between Y20R and Y40R with low chromaticity (05 to 15). It is warmer than industrial gray and cleaner than a saturated beige.
Why it is popular in 2026
Tendency reports from Pantone, Coloro/WGSN, and Sikkens point toward soft earthy tones this year. Greige works because it stays in style longer. It matches natural wood and microcement. You can use it on both interiors and facades.
Key codes to ask for in-store
- NCS S 2005-Y20R — linen greige, good for bright living rooms.
- NCS S 3010-Y30R — limestone, fits well on coastal facades.
- RAL 1019 — gray-beige, often used for metalwork.
- NCS S 5010-Y30R — taupe greige, for baseboards and accent walls.
Applying it with Blatem paint
For interiors, use Blatem Mate Sedoso or Blatem Plus in a matte finish. These products stop reflections and show the true pigment depth. For facades, Blatem Revepol with siloxane keeps the color stable against the Costa Brava sun.
Where it works best
Greige works in rooms where natural light changes throughout the day. Try it in north-facing living rooms, hallways without windows, and bedrooms. In kitchens and bathrooms, go half a tone darker so the humidity doesn't make the color look dull.
At Suministros Barrero, we tint any NCS, RAL, or Pantone reference using Blatem bases. We have it ready in under 24 hours and ship to all of Europe.
