NCS Natural Colour System: a quick guide to codes
The NCS system describes color based on how we see it, not pigment mixes. If you understand the code logic, you will get the right color the first time.

How to read an NCS code
A code like S 2010-Y30R works like this:
- S means it is an official standard color.
- 20 is the percentage of black in the mix.
- 10 is the color intensity.
- Y30R is the hue: a yellow with 30% red.
Why pros use NCS
NCS has more than 1.950 colors and lets you create any shade in between. RAL Classic is shorter with 213 colors. For precision in interior decor, NCS is better.
