Greige and warm neutrals
Greige is a mix of gray and beige. It works well because it feels modern and cozy. In the NCS system, code NCS S 1005-Y20R defines this idea best. It has yellow and red undertones so the room doesn't look cold when you turn on the lights at night.
If you want something more serious for the walls, the RAL system has RAL 000 70 00 Leichtgrau. This light gray helps wood furniture or linen curtains stand out.
Costa Brava earth tones
We have a lot of light here on the Costa Brava and pure whites can be blinding. People are using organic tones now. RAL 010 20 25 Rustrot is a rust red that looks great on a single wall or window frames. It looks like traditional ceramics. If you pair it with an off-white like RAL 000 90 00 Winterweiß, the house feels more comfortable.
How to choose with the NCS system
We always tell you in the shop to look at the real NCS Colour samples. This system is based on how people see color. For a warm white, the standard is NCS S 0502-Y. If you want a darker greige for the living room or bedroom, NCS S 2005-Y20R works well.
