Color trends: The rise of greige and Mediterranean neutrals
Cold whites are out. People now want warm tones like NCS S 2005-Y20R greige and earthy colors.
Color palette
At Suministros Barrero, we notice people aren't asking for cold whites as much. Our customers on the Costa Brava want warm tones for their homes now. We use Blatem paints and wallpapers to get that natural look.
Greige and the gray-beige mix
The color we sell most for renovations is greige. The technical code is NCS S 2005-Y20R. It is a mix of gray and sand that changes with the light. It looks great with wood or fiber furniture. If you want more depth than white, Seigneurie Cendre 1248 works well on any wall.
Mediterranean tones and light
The local style isn't just white and blue anymore. People use colors that look like stone or lime. RAL 7044 Silk gray is a good example. Even though it is called gray, it is a very fine mineral cream. If your living room is large, Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse keeps the room from feeling empty or cold.
Earthy colors for comfort
Earth tones are popular for bedrooms. NCS S 3020-Y30R is great for an accent wall because it has color but isn't tiring. To highlight details like beams or frames, Seigneurie Basalte creates a soft contrast with the rest of the house.
How to choose the right color
Check your window direction before you buy:
1. North-facing: The light is cold. Use NCS S 1005-Y30R to add warmth.
2. South-facing: There is a lot of yellow light. Grays like RAL 7047 Telegray 4 look better here.
3. LED lighting: The type of bulb changes the paint color.
