Color trends and interior design: The rise of greige and Mediterranean neutrals

From white to warm greige

We noticed at the shop that you aren't looking for hospital whites anymore. You want cozy homes. The mix of gray and beige, or greige, is our top seller. It dresses up the wall without losing light.

To get it right, we use the NCS (Natural Colour System). If you want a soft wall that looks good under the Costa Brava sun, try NCS S 2005-Y20R. It is a sand tone that never fails.

Mediterranean colors: NCS and RAL codes

Current styles focus on natural materials like linen or stone. If you are painting furniture or windows, the RAL Classic chart is best. RAL 7044 Silk grey works well on doors because it is clean and subtle.

For the living room or bedroom, you might want something with more body. Try NCS S 3010-Y30R. It looks like clay and gives the room character.

Mixing textures and tones

These colors act as a base for your decor. A gray like RAL 000 75 00 Marmorgrau allows you to add textured wallpaper later. If your room has many windows and lots of light, go with NCS S 1502-Y. It is a very light color that lets the space breathe. It looks great with wood or wicker furniture.

Contrasting with smoke tones

Pure black for details is out. We use dark grays now. For window frames or hallways, RAL 000 35 00 Brikettgrau looks elegant. It makes the light tones on the walls, like NCS S 2005-Y40R, look much better.

2. Use RAL for windows or doors and NCS for wall paint. The tones will match better that way.
