Color trends: Greige and Mediterranean neutrals

The exact color with NCS and RAL

If you want to paint your house, use international codes. In our shop, we work with Blatem and use NCS and RAL charts. This way, the color you see on the paper is the one you get on the wall. It is the best way to avoid mistakes.

Greige and earth tones

Greige is very popular here on the Costa Brava. It mixes gray and beige to stay bright and warm. The code NCS S 2005-Y20R looks great in large living rooms. If you prefer the RAL Classic chart, RAL 7044 Silk Grey is very similar and goes well with light wood furniture.

Earth tones are trending. NCS S 3010-Y30R looks like ceramic and has more depth than white. For details or trim, RAL 010 30 10 is a dark brown that helps define spaces.

How to read the codes

The NCS Colour system is based on how we see colors. If you pick NCS S 1005-Y30R, the code means it has 10% blackness and 5% chromaticity. The last part means it is a yellow with 30% red. It is simple logic. Because of this, if a customer asks for RAL 1015 Light Ivory, the paint can will be the same here as anywhere else.

Tips for painting your home

1. Use NCS S 1502-Y on your main walls. It is a neutral that does not feel cold.
2. For ceilings, RAL 9010 Pure White adds a lot of light. RAL 000 90 00 is another modern option.
3. If you want a different wall for a reading nook, try RAL 000 65 00 Mortar Grey.
